# ChessMsgs

> Free correspondence chess played by sharing links over any messaging app —
> RCS, SMS, iMessage, Slack, WhatsApp, Snap, Facebook, Twitter/X, or email.
> No accounts, nothing to install, no game server: the entire game state is
> encoded in the URL itself.

## How it works

1. Make a move by dragging a piece at https://chessmsgs.com/
2. Send the generated link to your opponent in any messaging app
3. They open the link, make their move, and send a new link back

In most messaging apps the link previews as a picture of the current board,
and opening a link always shows the board from the recipient's side. There is
no clock — players reply in seconds or days. Each link is a snapshot of one
position, so games continue from the newest link in the conversation.
